Peptid-Rechner

Work out how much to draw up for the concentration you want. Enter how many mg of peptide the vial contains, how much bacteriostatic water you add, and the amount you want to measure out.

How reconstitution works

Lyophilised peptide is a dry powder. Adding bacteriostatic water gives a solution whose concentration is simply the mass of peptide divided by the volume of water. A 10 mg vial with 2 ml of water gives 5 mg/ml; with 1 ml it gives 10 mg/ml. The calculator converts that into units on a U-100 insulin syringe, where 100 units equals 1 ml.

Add the water slowly against the glass wall rather than directly onto the powder, and swirl instead of shaking — peptides are sensitive to mechanical stress.

Storage after reconstitution

Keep the reconstituted vial at 2–8°C and use it within the window stated on the product page, typically 28 days. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which is what makes that window possible; plain sterile water does not.
