Why lyophilisate can handle transport
Without water, the main degradation processes proceed very slowly. As a result, a lyophilised peptide in a sealed vial stays stable for several days to weeks at room temperature. That is more than enough for shipping within Europe.
What to watch out for
- Extreme heat: a parcel left for hours in full sun or in a hot car can lose quality faster. So collect your parcel as soon as possible.
- Moisture: the vial is sealed, but don’t let the parcel get wet.
- In solution: once dissolved, a peptide is far more sensitive. That is why we always ship as a powder.
What to do on receipt
- Check that the vials are intact and properly sealed.
- Note the batch number and the date of receipt.
- Put the vials in cool storage straight away: 2โ8 ยฐC for short term, โ20 ยฐC for long term.
